Fujikou and history

The Ganso-Muro is a mountain hut located at the 8th station (formerly 7.5 stations) near the Eboshi Rock on Mount Fuji.

In 1985, a statue of Fudo Myo-o dating back to 1482 was discovered near the Ganso-Muro , indicating the existence of a temple during the Muromachi period. In the mid-Edo period, the popularity of Fujikou led to the enhancement of accommodation functions in mountain huts, and the Ganso-Muro's foundation was established. Moreover, Jikigyo Miroku's entry played a significant role in the establishment of the Eboshi Rock Shrine.
